The two tables show the mean usage of the three major harbour tunnels in Hong Kong by different kinds of transportation on weekdays and weekends.
In table 1, the central tunnel has the highest numbers of vehicles with more than nine thousand per hour using it on weekdays. On the other hand, there are only around two thousand types of transportation using the Western tunnel. The least number of taxis, with less than 100 per hour, are using the Western tunnel whereas nearly 4000 private cars are using the Central tunnel hourly.
As shown in table 2, on holidays and weekends , there are on average only 100 taxis and good vehicles using ther Western tunnel hourly. However, we can see that nearly 3000 private cars are passing through the Central tunnel an hour.
By comparing both tables, more vehicles use tunnels on weekdays than on holidays and weekends. On holidays and weekends on average only 100 taxis and good vehicles use the Western tunnel, whereas over 1500 taxis and good vehicles per hour use the central tunnel. The most significiant change between weekdays and weekends is good vehicles. The mean number of good vehicles using the central tunnels drops to one-quarter of that on weekdays.
